The youth vote made HISTORY tonight!

The youth vote made HISTORY tonight - with record turnout, over 60% first time Iowa Caucus voters, Obama swept the Iowa Caucus - 57% of the youth vote turned out for Obama compared to 13% for Edwards and 11% for Hillary.  No other candidate -Democratic or Republican had CLOSE to that number in voter turnout when it comes to constituency breakdown. Overall,  Obama swept by an 8% lead over any other Democratic candidate.

What does this say? It means that young voters organize well, and have a desire to make change when candidates target them. If we keep coming out in record turnout, the youth vote will make a better, stronger America. Youth voters must continue working hard and must make their voice heard regardless of their political preference. It's time that all candidates stand up and listen. The youth vote will determine the the 2008 election. Iowa demonstrated the strength of the youth vote. All candidates must start courting the youth vote and take us seriously. November 4, 2008 -- here we come!
