Truth be told if those little wars that happened around the ALAMO would have turned out different this map would be a reality today. I think it is quite funny and clever play on terms.By the way I am not Mexican and I Love it.

Actually, peace officer background investigations are regulated by POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training). POST is a regulating agency for police agencies and regularly audit police background investigations. There is a manual that sets forth guidelines on PO background investigations, they are very extensive. The problem with Maywood (and others that fall into corruption), is that any process can be circumvented. Hutchings pulled out of the chiefs candidate process when he found out the city manager agreed to a complete and impartial investigation on him prior to his acceptance of the position. Hauptmann has since signed back on and the department is back on its course to reform. A side note: Hauptmann took major steps to protect the city and police department the weekend prior to the day Hutchings was supposed to take the chiefs chair. These actions caused the District Attorney's office and some state agencies to threaten the city with legal action should Hutchings be given the chiefs spot without a background investigation. Hauptmann should be commended for his efforts which ultimately led to Hutchings withdrawal.

The Department sounds like it needs to do a more thorough background check. Even speaking with prior employers and neighbors will give you a pretty good idea of what type of person he is. We all have are "GEMS" we have to deal with on the job. Unfortunately, when you hire someone in law enforcement, good or bad, your're stuck with them for 25 years, unless they really screw up.

Here are my 2 cents on Pitbull song "Across the Waters." Its a good beat, very different from his current club style sound. I am glad Pitbull decided to do a conscious song, we need hip hop to go back to this style of music but I don't agree 100% with the lyrics of this song. We must look at the bigger picture and the facts of why Cuba is in the way it is. People have left Cuba because they are not happy with the situations they live in and that situation is not all caused by Castro the United States also plays a major role in this. Castro could of ended being a hero but he's not going to because he chose to continue a fight at the cost of thousands of Cubans for his own personal satisfactions. I do not agree with that but I don't just blame Castro I also blame the United States for having the embargo on Cuba and creating the situations for that country not to progress and move forward. In fact its a shame that this country has surpress Cuba for many years for being communist and yet has many business relationships with China. Pitbull is a young person and he represents a young Cuban generation that will most likely never understand the Cuban Revolution because most of them are from Miami and most of the people in Miami are Anti Castro, so this young generation grows up with that. I can go even say that if there would have never been a revolution and Castro would have never been in power then maybe his parents would of never left Cuba, and he would of not been born in this country and never had such a successful career as he's had. Maybe he would of been a rapper in Cuba but would he would not be as big as he is today. Anyways I hope you all understand my point, I'm not a communist and I don't support Castro but I do think that we should also look at the whole story.

All nations, and especially the US, should boycott the opening ceremonies. I believe it is the best compromise position. The athletes still get to compete but China gets exposed to the full measure of world displeasure with their horrible human rights abuses.
